SOUND BOARD CUT-OFF

Below is an image of the OVERS 225 no. 4, when under construction for the (Sydney) Conservatorium High School, showing the sound board cut-off bar fitted. The laminated cut-off, of 17 layers, is made from Antarctic Beech (Nothofagus moorei - ADD 0.76 gr/cc - darker wood) and Silky Beech (Citronella moorei - ADD 0.70 gr/cc - lighter wood). Cut-off is 51 mm wide by 51 mm deep, and blends into the belly rail over half way across to the treble side. The under beams and belly rail are manufactured from Rock Maple.
