SANDY EVANS QUARTET AT KOWMUNG 2003

For the first time in the history of the Kowmung Festival, a jazz concert was included in the 2003 festival programme.

The Sandy Evans Quartet, with Sandy on Saxophones, Alister Spence on the Overs 225 grand piano, Lloyd Swanton on bass and Toby Hall on Drums, gave a memorable performance which included original compositions from Sandy and Alister, and standards including Gershwin's Someone to Watch Over Me.

The audience of mostly classical music enthusiasts were treated to a wonderful afternoon performance of musicianship from the four stars. The standing ovation at the concert's conclusion would suggest that this will not be last appearance of jazz performances at the Kowmung Festival.
