MATHEW WILKE - BASSOONIST

Mathew Wilke studied in Hannover with Professor Klaus Thunemann. He made solo appearances with the South West German Chamber Orchestra and the Wurttenberg Chamber Orchestras. In Geneva he won second prize in the International Music Competition and performed the Mozart Concerto with the Orchestra de la Suisse Romande. He joined the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in 1986 as Principal Basoon and made recordings for Teledec Classics including Mozart's Wind Serenades and the Wind Divertimenti. He is Principal Basoon with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
